That Thing You Do

Coach, Mentor, Guide, Teacher, Advocate, Cheerleader

I want you to know WHY I chose to become a Mindset Coach and Empowerment Advocate for girls and women.

If you don’t know me well, you may form a particular impression:

I’m an optimistic, enthusiastic, intelligent, successful, more-often-than-not happy woman with a beautiful family who travels all over the world.

I have a devoted and doting husband who lives for his “4 girls”. I have three sweet, funny, healthy daughters.

I’ve driven race cars, hob-nobbed with celebrities, lived in all the biggest cities in the U.S., and flown on private jets, just to name of few of the incredible experiences I’ve enjoyed.

Which means I’ve heard a few of these over the years:

“Everything is just easy for you.”
“What do you know of lack, of struggle, of fear, of sadness?”
“You’re just luckier than me.”

Or my favorite:

“You don’t need to work (or worry, or be given this, or blah blah blah) because your husband will take care of you.”

We all know you cannot (or are not supposed to) judge a book no matter how compelling the cover.

So let me tell you something. I worked hard for that beautiful cover. It didn’t come effortlessly, or easy. It wasn’t “dropped into my lap”. Nope. I manifested that life, intention-by-intention, lesson after lesson, one step at a time, always following my intuition and ready to do the inner work.

Because inside the book of My Life, you would find:

  • A little girl who moved from city to city, apartment to apartment, school to school, hardly finding friends bc she was never in any place long enough to form bonds.
  • A girl who was bullied, teased, harassed (physically, emotionally, and sexually), and taunted by her peers on and off throughout school.
  • A girl turned woman who mourned and processed through her father’s suicide, as well as attempts by other family members.
  • A childhood spent navigating through and around a parent’s extreme agoraphobia (which she did eventually overcome – Go MOM!)
  • A child whose parent struggled financially and who felt near constant lack, fear, and shame.
  • A woman who spent years dealing with Infertility, trying to grow a family, one needle at a time.
  • A spouse watching helplessly as Cancer ravaged her husband (and then beat it!) and a caregiver who had to choke down the tears as she filled out “next of kin” paperwork.
  • A body that underwent two cesarean sections, hernia and abdominal surgery, and multiple weeks in the hospital due to a ruptured liver.
  • The emotional pain of having a child whisked to the NICU, the gratitude of her healthy recovery, and the forever images and heartbreak for those babies who didn’t.
  • A mom, spouse, friend, sister, daughter, niece, who developed an autoimmune disorder that arose during a twin pregnancy and which brings with it daily joint and muscle pain, fatigue, and depression.

I know what it’s like to be embarrassed and ashamed of all of these things.

But I also know what it’s like to appreciate life all the more because of all of these experiences. I know what it has taken me to move through them, learn from them, adapt, change course as necessary, and still find time to laugh and be happy.

I know which tools to use and how to apply them so that I stay grounded, present, and content despite the shitstorm life can feel like at times. I know how to be an empathetic listener, friend, coach, and mentor.

I know how to create, how to set goals and intentions, live my values, and manifest a truly incredible life, full of love, abundance, and the kind of adventure I dreamt of as a child.

I have a firm grasp on my core values and that helps keep me, and my decision-making, grounded in what is most important to me.

So again, WHY coach and mentor?

I am just one messenger, one person who can help you see, realize and manifest your potential.

All the things I have learned, I can teach. I believe in Paying It Forward.

And I know that each girl, each woman I touch will go forth and Pay It Forward.

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

Love & Light,
Daria
